Recently, Strike Witches official site (http://w-witch.jp/) has revealed Brave Witches (ブレイブウィッチーズ) a new anime series. The story is split from Strike Witches (ストライクウィッチーズ) to another place.
The first promo video introduces anime characters of the 502nd Joint Fighter Wing, a squadron based in Petersburg, Orussia. Strike Witches squadron is the 501st Joint Fighter Wing currently based in Romagna. The video also revealed its staff list and release year. (Now we already know that the anime will be released in 2016!)
Brave Witches directed by Kazuhiro Takamura (高村 和宏). He previously served as director of Strike Witches anime. Takamura has many anime works. Other anime that he had participated such as Gurren Lagann, Mobile Suit Gundam 00 and Vividred Operation. I'm confident that he will lead Brave Witches series into the greatest anime of the year. The studio is SILVER LINK (シルバーリンク) one of the best studio for creating anime series.
Strike Witches series originally came from Humikane Shimada's mecha girl artworks. The anime story about the wars between humans and aliens. The girls who were chosen will have to fight Neuroi a belligerent alien race. Currently, governments have collaborated to develop a equipment called Striker. When magic girls wearing the equipment, they will be powerful enough to use magic against Neuroi. That is the source of Strike Witches.
